Greetings!

Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Back2Health Newsletter.  Every few weeks, we'll send out an update about things we think are relevant to our business and clients.  This most likely means stuff we like - or don't like - having to do with exercise and nutrition.

Feedback is encouraged, and please feel free to forward to anyone you think may benefit from reading by using the 'forward email' link at the bottom of this page.

MedX Lumbar
What's in a Name?

More than we even thought...

When the Back2Health name was coined in 2006, we viewed it as referring explicitly to the lower back (i.e., Back2Health: Spinal Fitness).  The foundation of this business is the MedX Lumbar Extension machine (pictured above), which, when surrounded by the rest of the MedX Core line, allows for the highest degree of 'spinal fitness' to be achieved.

What we did not expect, was the depth of the Back2Health name.  It can mean 'getting someone back to health', i.e., a return to health and fitness; or it can denote 'bringing your back to health', i.e., fixing a pre-existing back issue.  With so much flexibility, no pun intended, this name allowed us to expand our business into several different and unpredicted areas.

Consider Back2Health: Total Fitness as the proud parent of the following children:

  • Back2Health: Huntington Fitness (general exercise application performed in studio)
  • Back2Health: Spinal Fitness (MedX based spine specific exercise)
  • Back2Health: At Home Fitness (general exercise application performed in home)
  • Back2Health: Corporate Fitness (a three tier approach to employee wellness, consisting of exercise, nutrition, and mental health via coaching)

Growing each of these separate but interrelated businesses is what we are focused on.  There is no doubt we offer a collection of services unsurpassed in the area, but we have plenty of room to grow.

Feel free to watch us on our blog, our website, and this, our newsletter.  It should be an interesting ride...
we may even have a few surprises in store.
If you eat 7-13 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, read no further...

NanoGreensWhile many of us try, most don't manage the amount recommended for optimal health.  Additionally, since most people have favorites, they only ingest a few small parts of a very broad spectrum of phytonutrients (i.e., compounds and antioxidants found in plant life, herbs and spices that promote health and fight illness).  An apple at lunch and some broccoli at dinner doesn't cover all the bases.

The solution to this has been around for a long time, in the form of various 'greens drink mixes'.  However, none offer the nutrient density, absorption, and flavor as NanoGreens10 from BioPharma Scientific.  While not everyone agrees on the flavor aspect, there are ways of working around it for those that do not find the drink appetizing yet still value the health benefits found therein.

Besides NanoGreens10, BioPharma Scientific makes a pharmaceutical-grade, low-dose protein mix (NanoProPRP), and one of the few omega-3 products on the market to include the synergistic vitamins necessary for absorption (NanOmega3).   In fact, Craig and I have been experimenting with the three 'Nano' products during the past month.  Approximately 75-80% of our entire nutrient intake has consisted of these drink mixes, in various combinations, mainly due to our schedules.  With our three day per week exercise program remaining constant, we've noted increased energy and better recovery.  Additionally, the drink mixes are very low calorie (100 cal max when combining two) - and such low caloric intake has not resulted in a loss of muscle or metabolic 'slow down'.  This is probably due to a 'hyper' intake of nutrients, and could be a huge help for the low-calorie, or low-carb exercise enthusiast.  Others have noted that it is easier to lose body fat when nutrient needs are met - needs which are almost impossible to satisfy without NanoGreens10.

In the next issue, I'll take a look at one of the other BioPharma Scientific products.  Meanwhile, we have a small amount of NanoGreens and NanoPro samples on our hands.  If interested, please let us know - or visit this webpage to request some samples of all three products.  To purchase, or to read more about these products, please visit this website.  Eventually we will have these products for sale in our Hanover studio as well.
Please enjoy these next few weeks, and feel free to take out any pre-holiday angst on our exercise equipment.

Sincerely,

Adam Reid
