By far the best food, the Gold Medalist of the Food Olympics, are the dark leafy green vegetables.  They are coming into season now, just what our bodies need to cleanse and renew.  To cleanse, which helps in shedding winter weight, eat lots of radishes, leeks, kale, sea vegetables such as kelp and kombu, as well as the herbs cilantro and parsley.  Pictured here is Swiss chard, just before my husband and I cooked it.  It's like spinach, but even more nutritious. .  Michael Pollan, the food expert, is famous for saying, "Eat food.  Mostly plants.  Not too much." And he is so right. And after you eat all the great greens, have a guilt free taste of dark chocolate. There's a new study released the end of March in the UK that shows that small amounts of dark chocolate lower blood pressure and lower the risk of heart disease.
