Call to Action for Kajal

www.facebook.com/beaheroforKajal

Kajal Patel is a vivacious,12-year-old girl from Athens, GA who has an illness that doctors say can only be cured with a bone marrow transplant. For people of Southeast Asian descent, like Kajal, the odds of finding a correct match is 1 in 20,000. Odds that might sound like a long shot to most but not for Kajal's classmates at Athens Academy. With the support of their parents and an enthusiastic school faculty, these students are determined to find Kajal's match. Please help them in any way you can! You may Be The Match!

What Can YOU Do?

1. Get Swabbed!

If you are in Athens, Ga:

Attend the 24hr. Marrow-thon March 27-28

(Visit Kajal's Facebook page above for specifics.)

If you are anywhere else WORLDWIDE:

Send for a swab kit (directly to your home)

The $100.00 fee has been waived through 03.31.2012.  Be The Match relies on generous donations.

*You can join online by going to www.marrow.org and click on the "Join the Registry" tab and Join Now. Follow the instructions and keyword/promo code is 'KAJAL' A kit will be mailed to your home.

**Getting registered is quick and requires a simple, non-invasive cheek swab (2 minutes of our time) and filling out some forms (5 minutes of your time). Registering is VERY simple and does not require a blood test!

2. Spread The Word

Set a personal goal

Encourage your friends and family to register!

*Please share this message with at least 20 people (particularly Southeast Asians), and ask them to do the same. Please use the power of your address book, the web, and social networking to spread this message - today more than ever before, we can achieve a broad scale effort and be part of a large online movement to save lives. We need to get the word out quickly. Saving Kajal is about numbers and odds.
