Orchestra Notes 
 
Middle School Orchestra Concert
Tonight  at 7 p.m. in the Performance Hall in the Harrison Arts and Preschool Center. 

 

Lower School Strings Performances
Fourth grade orchestra students will show off their new skills during a  performance in the Performance Hall on Friday, March 30 at 2:45 p.m.  

 String Fling Concert 

Please also mark your calendar for the String Fling Concert on Thursday, May 10, at 7 p.m. in the Bertelsmann Presentation Hall.

Carmen Agra Deedy

in the Performance Hall

Tickets: $10/adults, $2/students

 

The Guest Artist performance on Monday, March 26, will feature Carmen Agra Deedy, an internationally known, award-winning author, storyteller, and radio contributor. Born in Havana, Cuba, she immigrated to the United States with her family in 1963 after the Cuban Revolution. She grew up in Decatur, Georgia, where she lives today. Read More... 

Be a Hero for Kajal on March 28

 

On Wednesday, March 28, Athens Academy is teaming up with Be The Match and the University of Georgia to host a bone marrow registry drive, with the hope of breaking the current record for the most bone marrow donors registered at a single event. Academy parents Sherri Goggin, Whitney Goodstone, and Laura Pennington and grandparent Ginny Browning are working with Be The Match representative Caitlin Martin to put together the event, which will be held at the Tate Center from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The drive was inspired by students' and families' desire to help find a match for Athens Academy sixth grader Kajal Patel, who is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant. Classes dismiss at 3:20 p.m. on Friday, March 9 and resume at 8:10 a.m. on Monday, March 19

 

And don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour when Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 11.
