Athens Academy Hosts "Sparbots Invitational" Athens Academy's Upper School robotics team, the Sparbots, is excited to host the inaugural Sparbots Invitational this Saturday, January 21. Part of the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) program, the tournament will serve as a qualifying event for the state tournament in March at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta. Fourteen high school-level teams from all over Georgia will compete in the FTC's "Bowled Over" game. The opening ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Harrison Center, with matches beginning at 10:30 a.m. Competition is expected to last until late afternoon, and the event is open to everyone.
