 The Value of...A Skinned Knee

Wow! It really has been an incredible fall. With so much going on the time has flown since last I wrote in September from the Junior College Trip. We have enjoyed a remarkable first three months of this school year, and I want to recognize our students, teachers, parents, and staff for the hard work each has done to produce such positive outcomes. I feel blessed each day to come to a place where young people are nurtured, cajoled, and, yes, even pushed to strive for their personal best each day. Read the article...

Athens Academy's 12th Annual Service Day
Conceived, planned, and implemented by student leaders, Service Day is an annual event in which all Upper School students participate. This year's event, which will take place on Friday, November 19, marks the 12th year Upper School students will spend an entire day volunteering in the community. See a list of all of our projects!

Football Playoff Game!
We hope you can join us for this Friday's State Playoff game at 7:30 p.m. against Mt. Paran. Admission is $8.00 for adults and students, as season passes are not valid for the playoffs. If you can't make it, please enjoy the game from your living room on the webcast at 7:00 p.m.
As a reminder: Supervision of children who are not participating in the event is the responsibility of the parent.

Service Day Fashion Show Fund Raiser!

If you answered yes to any of these, then you should purchase tickets for the Sixth Annual Service Day Fashion Show Grand Prize Raffle. A $5 ticket could win you a $1,000 shopping spree to Heery's Clothes Closet! All proceeds from this raffle and event will benefit the Athens Area Homeless Shelter & Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support.
The drawing will be held at the Fashion Show on Friday, November 19, at Athens Country Club from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Raffle tickets and are available for purchase from Mrs. Yates in the USl Office. Tickets to the fashion show are $25/person or $160/table (seats 8). Reserve your spot now by contacting Dean of Students Pat Snead at 706-433-2419.
