Developing Communities of Service

On Wednesday, October 27, students, faculty members, local Rotarians, and special guests gathered at Athens Academy for a "Celebration of Service Above Self."  District 6910 Governor Gene Windham was on hand to discuss the development of communities of service and to commend Athens Academy's Interact Club and UGA's Rotaract Club for their recent achievements.  In March, the Interact Club was named "District Club of the Year," and in June they received the 2009-2010 Presidential Citation from Rotary International at the Rotary International Convention, for "strengthening Rotary's future through exemplary action and service."
