Student to Solo with Athens Youth Symphony

AloisAcademy eighth grader Alois Cerbu, pianist, was chosen to solo with the Athens Youth Symphony in concert on Sunday, May 16, at 4:00 p.m. at the Hugh Hodgson Concert Hall in the UGA Performing Arts Center. Alois vied for the honor against eight other musicians in a concerto competition held last November. He will perform the first movement from Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major. Alois has been playing the piano for nine years and studies with teacher Liana Embovica. He enjoys classical music and is looking forward to the concert in May. More...
