There's plenty of theater to see at CM this spring, and it begins Wednesday night, March 21, with the Middle School Program's production of Shakespeare classics - at 7pm in the Ron Perry Gym. Admission: free. In the next month, catch the speech team's open house (see below), the spring musical, and four independent study performances. Decision Time
Brandeis likes Kyungtae Park; Purdue, Mike Perry. Marcus Jackson may go from Knight to Hurricane next year at University of Miami.
For seniors like these, springtime brings another kind of March Madness - waiting for decision letters from colleges. If the early action or decision letters didn't bring good news, they and their parents hope that waitlist and financial aid letters will. But the Guidance Department always has plenty of good news in its foyer, as seniors log their college entrance results.
This year, Guidance reports other schools like Trinity (CT), Drexel, Loyola (MD), LSU, Babson, BC, Villanova, Williams and Northeastern on its list, among others.
Besides assembling the perfect application that will get them aid packages, students like John O'Callaghan (above) also submitted entries to scholarship contests. O'Callaghan got good news the other day: his writing portfolio earned him a four-year tuition scholarship to Mt. Saint Vincent College in New York. For submitting a few stories and essays to the college's Fonthill Writer's Scholarship program, O'Callaghan earned himself an award worth thousands of dollars.
Judging from past years, it's likely that O'Callaghan's will not be the last good news to come for the Class of 2012.

Joe lives in Connecticut and works for St. Cloud Mining Company as vice president for sales.
Greg Harty '97 was recently named a finalist in the Scriptwriters Network 2nd annual High Concept Screenplay Competition for his script, "The Profiteer." Harty is currently living in the Los Angeles area.

Did you see Dan Boulger '04 (above) on the Craig Ferguson Show last week? Watch it here.
Leo Stapleton '11 returned from six weeks at sea in February during his first year at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He went through the Panama Canal, volunteered at a children's hospital in Equador and watched the Superbowl at the Hard Rock Café in Panama. Below the equator
Voyagers beyond Baker St.
"This is in the catacombs under a plantation house near Lima," says Quinn Ciesielski '15 of the photo above. "The tunnels under the house were really long, and we each had a candle because they were very dark. The house was built in the 1700s."
Pictured are (L-R) Alex Curry, Sean Donovan, Martin Geraghty and Chris Cobuccio, four of the fifteen students on this winter's BERSI-Peru service and immersion trip. View more photos here.

Model Men
Joyce, Marino, Claude earn top honors
Joined by 25 students from CM's Model UN team, Aiden Joyce '13 earned the highest honor of recognition offered at BC High's conference on March 3, as did senior Ron Claude, representing China on the Security Council, and eighth-grader Paul Marino, representing China on the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Like any Model UN conference, this one offered students the chance to represent countries and debate global issues similar to those in play at the UN in New York. Students at this conference created policy for different organizations, including the Rebublican National Commitee, the NCAA and the McDonald's Board of Directors.
"It was great to see so many CM students experiencing a day like this, debating issues of global importance," said Model UN coach Vincent Bradley. "And Paul, Aiden and Ron really set themselves apart, earning this award." [read more]

CM is on Tucker's Team
World language teacher Ashley Critchley and her husband Eric lost their son, Tucker Joseph, to leukemia on October 29. In order to honor Tucker's strength and memory, the two will be running the Boston Marathon on April 16 with Team in Training. On March 31, the team will host a benefit night at The Fours in Quincy, MA. The event will take place from 7pm-11pm. Tickets will be $25 or $30 at the door. There will be free food, raffle prizes, and silent auction items as well. The Critchleys' goal is to raise $50,000. To date, they have raised over $26,000, with 100% of the funds raised going towards infant leukemia research. Click here to visit the "Tucker's Team" page. Mrs. Critchley writes: "Thanks so much for your prayers, encouragement and support. We couldn't do this without you!"
