History.
Knights will likely be studying for midterms on Saturday, but those who have time might turn out for the Frozen Fenway game between CM's varsity hockey team and BC High. Along with the 28,000 other fans in attendance, they'll be part of history. It's likely that Saturday's game, scheduled for 1pm, will bring in the largest crowd ever assembled to watch a high school hockey game in state history.

Then there's the players on the ice. "Everyone's excited," asst.captain Thomas Stanton '12 says. "We want to make a statement." Like his teammates, Stanton has played in a hundred or more venues in his life. But donning a new jersey on Saturday and leading the team onto the ice will be a brand new thrill.

And Coach Hanson? Despite being head coach for 36 years, growing up and going to college a mile away, Fenway Park will be just as new an experience for him on Saturday. But he's focused on the game. It's a regular season league game, after all...though is there anything regular about it?

On the same day, Coach Rob Croteau '93 led a second squad to the University School's "Sunvitational" tournament in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. There, they applied sunscreen and skill to earn a dozen trophies and plaques...[read more]

CM is on Tucker's Team

World language teacher Ashley Critchley and her husband Eric lost their son, Tucker Joseph, to leukemia on October 29. In order to honor Tucker's strength and memory, the two will be running the Boston Marathon on April 16 with Team in Training.

"Although he was only a little over five weeks old, our little man was strong!" wrote Mrs. Critchley. "Our hope is that in the future there will be treatments and cures available for lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, myeloma and leukemia - especially infant leukemia."

The Critchleys' goal is to raise $50,000. To date, they have raised over $22,000, with 100% of the funds raised going towards infant leukemia research. Click here to visit the "Tucker's Team" page. Mrs. Critchley writes: "Thanks so much for your prayers, encouragement and support. We couldn't do this without you!"
