Four Knights headed to D-1 football  

 

Four senior members of CM's varsity football team will head to Division I programs in 2012. A.J. Doyle, Donovan Henry, Armani Reeves and Camren Williams, having proven their mettle as Knights, will join several other former teammates in playing for top football programs nationwide.

 

Linebacker Cam Williams '12, whom many top programs had in their sights, made his intent known this spring, committing to play for Coach Joe Paterno and Penn State University. Then came quarterback A.J. Doyle, who committed to play for NC State in late June. CM Alumni: News and Notes

 

Steve Leary '67 was named to the Board of Directors of the Curaxis Pharmaceutical Corporation on June 27. 

 

Tom Broderick '69 was recently appointed Chief of Staff at the Naval Air Training Command in Corpus Christi, TX.  He is second in command of the command's 17 squadrons, including the Navy's Blue Angels Demonstration Squadron.

 

Several CM grads gathered at the White House West Wing on June 9th. Pictured below are (L-R) Brian Keane '85, John Mazza '98, Dr. James Keane '82 (Vice Principal), and Mr. John Colleran '01. Colleran has worked in the White House for the past few years with the Office of Management and Budget and provided a VIP tour that included the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room.

Vonleh makes finals at NFL Nationals 


Jhovani Vonleh '12 advanced to the final round in Prose Reading at the 2011 NFL National Tournament on June 18 in Dallas, Texas. Vonleh bested hundreds

of other competitors in his event to earn a chance to perform in Saturday's final round.

Vonleh was recognized as a national finalist during the national awards assembly on Saturday evening, having bested over 300 other competitors in his category.

Summer Book Sale 

 

Catholic Memorial's Bookstore will open in August for the Summer Book Sale.  Hours are as follows:

 

Grades 7/8: August 22, 4pm - 6pm

Grade 9: August 22, 6pm - 8:30pm

Grades 10-12: August 23, 4pm - 8:30pm

All grades: August 24, 3pm - 7pm   

 

Students can pick up their schedules, planners, books, uniforms and apparel during these times. Please let Mr. Croteau know if you have any concerns by calling (617)-469-8000, x5008.  Any parent who cannot attend these times can have his/her son pick up his books during orientiation.  Used book supplies are limited on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Students in Mr. Murray's Middle School Program summer enrichment class took a break from concocting some devilish experiments on Wednesday. The class, a survey in the humanities, takes students beyond the classroom walls - to museums, historical sites and fun spots around the city.

From the Athletics Department 


All parents received information on fall athletics with the June mailing that came home. It stated that every athlete who wishes to play in the 2011-12 school year must have a signed Code of Conduct form on file with the Athletic Department. Students who wish to play in the fall season must have an updated physical on file by August 15. Questions: please call the Athletics Office at 617-469-8061.
