The Class of 2011 celebrated its graduation exercises on May 26 at Holy Name Church.

"Let us relish and appreciate the time we have had at CM," salutatorian Pat Carney told his classmates. "Let us celebrate our years here and soak up this moment. Look around this Church right now...look at the smiling faces of your friends, your family, your teachers, and savor this moment. Each of us has earned the right to be here and to be graduates of Catholic Memorial School."

Before a capacity crowd in the church, John Gaffney '11 delivered the valedictory address, urging his classmates to continue the practices of service and fidelity that have been hallmarks of the Class of 2011.  "At CM, service isn't something done begrudgingly; it's an actively chosen way of life," Gaffney said...[read more]

Middle School Program's Showcase Night

Catholic Memorial's Middle School Program set out an ambitious road map for itself this year: to center its interdisciplinary studies around the theme of "Boston's Past, Present and Future."

After hearing from a dozen or more guest speakers, setting out on nearly a dozen field trips, and conducting primary and secondary interviews and research all year, students completed a capstone project that demonstrated what they had learned.

Combining art, civics, math, language arts, science and world language, the projects - on display before this year's Showcase Night on June 1 - were as diverse in form and composition as the student body who produced them...[read more]

From the Athletics Department

The varsity track relay team of Mike Techiera '11 and juniors Curtis West, David Berment and Donovan Henry '12 set a state record in the 4x100 on May 28 in the Division II state meet. The team ran flawlessly and recorded a time of 42.97 seconds, beating the record time of 43.10, set in 1999 by West Roxbury. Henry (pictured right) also earned a state title in the 200-meter event. At All-States the following week, the relay team came in second place, earning a New Englands berth. While they didn't place there, the relay team led all other sports in heading farthest into the postseason!

We're nearing our goal!

0108a

Thank you to all of those members of the CM community who have chosen to make the school a priority in their philanthropic giving.

The Unrestricted Annual Fund - the largest source of income after tuition, is nearing its goal of $400,000, raising over $382,000 in gifts and pledges, or 95% toward the mark.  You can be the one to put us over the dollar goal!  The participation goal is just as important, and CM stands at 78%, or 1,504 donors, toward our goal of 1,930.  Your gift can help CM remain the leader in participation among the other Catholic Conference Schools.
