5,640 Hours of Service
L-R Seniors Billy Stewart, Greg Lucas and James Freeman with Ms. Crawford's kindergarten class at the Mather School in Dorchester.
"The CM boys are great, and they have a very nice temperament...please send more of them next year!" So said Mather School principal Karyn Strandberg as she bid farewell to three CM seniors this spring, who devoted forty hours or more of service to the school as part of their Senior Service Project, the culminating project for every senior as he closes out his years at CM.
This year's senior class devoted approximately 5,640 hours to their communities at over 90 sites in and around Boston. Those ranged from hospitals, senior homes, food pantries, non-profits and town and city offices, all of whom were grateful for the extra helping hands. In its sixth year of operation, the Senior Service Project gives each senior class a personal and often lasting impression of their role as agents of change in the world. ""They feel that they really make an impact on the people they serve," says coordinator Mr. Malionek. "And the feedback they received was very positive."
Take a tour of some of this year's Senior Service sites to see the good work done by the Class of 2010.
