In his Advanced Placement Latin class the other day, Brendan Hughes '11 was called to the front of the room by Mrs. Karen Hynes.  In front of Brendan was a challenging Latin text: Virgil's description of Priam's life and death.

 

"Read the line, and mark the elisions," Mrs. Hynes said.

Chris Kerrigan '08 is a sophomore at Nichols College in Dudley, MA.  He is studying civil engineering and has played two seasons of football for the Bisons.

Matt Mulvey '73 was recently appointed Chairman of the
Advisory Board for WUMB in Boston, an NPR affiliate he has volunteered for in the past 25 years.  He is also in his second year of serving as a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla Vice Commander.

Osmani Rodriguez '86 has been accruing credits as an actor on stage and in film.  His latest roles include The Maiden Heist (starring Morgan Freeman) and a small role in Tina Fey and Martin Scorcese's American Express commercial.

Mark Seely '94 and his wife Heidi are celebrating the birth of thier second child, Ellenore Rose, born on November 29, 2009. Harry, now 21 months old, has welcomed his new sister with happiness. Heidi is due to graduate Suffolk University Law School as a member of the school's law review in May 2010 as Mark continues working with General Dynamics at Hanscom Air Force Base.

Forensics Team Shines in 3 States

It's high season for CM's Speech and Debate Team, with students in all grades, categories and ability levels sharpening their speech performances and debating skills and coming up with big results for their hard work.  Their work is taking them around Massachusetts and to Florida and New York.

At the prestigious Holly Fest Tournament on December 19th, the team placed 4th behind an array of winners and finalists.

 *"No student will be allowed to take an exam before the scheduled exam time. Students absent during an exam will be allowed to make-up the exam only with written verification from a doctor stating that the absence was due to illness. From the Athletics Department

The #1-ranked Varsity Hockey team moved to 5-2-1 after defeating Xaverian, 2-1, on January 13 with a power-play goal by Derek Colucci '10.  Dan Brooks '10 scored 25 points as Varsity Basketball defeated Xaverian on January 8.  The Knights edged out MC, 60-57, on 1/12.  Varsity Wrestling defeated MC to move to 7-1 on the season on January 14.
