Energy Efficiency 101 is back with more opportunities for you to learn how you can save money by controlling your energy costs just in time for winter!

Come learn how to perform your own energy audit and start making a difference in your home. Visit us online at greystonepower.com and select EE101 Registration on our home page. Complete the online registration form, then mark your calendars as a reminder!

We ask that only adults attend this program. Though we love children, this event will not be best suited for them and may distract other members from learning.

Because seats are limited, we ask that seats be reserved for first-time guests only. If you attended a program in 2011 or earlier this year and have additional questions, please feel free to call our Energy Services Department at 770-370-2252.

Together We Save - Tip of Month
leafy CFL Using compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) in outdoor lights can save money and energy because these lights stay on the longest. ENERGY STAR-qualified CFLs use 75 percent less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs. To save even more, look for fixtures designed for outdoor use that have automatic daylight shutoff and motion sensors. Learn more at EnergySavers.gov.

Rate reminder
woman on phn w_card Just a friendly reminder that summer rates are in effect through October, so keep up the good work practicing your energy efficiency tips and watch your bill go down.

These higher rates are necessary to fund additional power plants brought on to generate more electricity during the hottest times of the year. With your help, everyone saves. To learn more ways you can save, visit

iMap card
*App is available for iTunes and iOS platforms only.
Are you one that likes to monitor storms as they travel through? Or, perhaps you can't sleep knowing a storm is blowing over?

With the iMap Weather Radio app, you can be notified if there is a severe storm in your area. The objective of the app is to support our local media by providing communication of warnings to you and hopefully saving lives. When there is an alert, the phone will wake up automatically, beep and then speak to you. You will receive alerts for your current location, as well as the five locations you have the option of setting.

In addition, GreyStone will also be able to send out special alerts to you, such as peak energy alerts, outage information and notifications through social media networks (Facebook/Twitter). You will also have the ability to view real-time streaming video of the local television feed and the interactive maps will provide situational awareness. The text and audio text-to-speech reading of the watches/warnings for drivers and the visually impaired add to its features.

A couple hundred are still available on a first come, first serve basis for iPhone users. Cards can be picked up at the front desk in Douglasville or with a cashier in Dallas. Limit one per member-household. You can also request yours by mail by calling 770-370-2273. For additional information about the app, visit imapweatherradio.com or call 770-370-2436.
