Special Fraud Alert

 Fraudulent activity has increased over the years, and GreyStone members are not exempt.
If you are a residential member and you receive a phone call threatening to disconnect power to your residence if you don't pay a certain amount, be wary. These individuals may represent themselves as GreyStone Power, but they are not. Though it may seem legit, we would advise that you not pay this way. If you give out your credit card information to an individual over the phone, you may find that thousands of dollars could be charged to your card.
What should you do if you receive a call like this?
Hang up! If you need to make a payment, you may do so via our website, through the automated phone system, with a representative in person or via phone, with which you initiated the call. |

 Water heating ranks as one of the top three energy-related expenses in your home. Save energy and money by installing a water heater blanket on your electric water heater, using low-flow showerheads and faucets, and lowering the thermostat on your water heater to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Beat the heat
|  How far would you go to cool off these days? With the high temperatures we have seen, I bet you have thought about a few different ways!
Summer is in full force bringing an unbearably hot wave. Due to the record breaking temperatures we have experienced, August bills will be higher than normal. Looking for ways to save will become more important as the summer progresses.
In order to maintain a more manageable bill, remember to keep your thermostat set to 78 degrees. Summer rates are in effect through October, so buckle down and put our energy saving tips into practice and watch your bill go down. These higher rates are necessary to fund additional power plants brought on to generate more electricity. When days are at their hottest, you may be advised through our website and Facebook to help reduce the load by cutting back all excessive energy use. Avoid the need to bring on additional power plants to generate power by using only what is needed during specified hours. With your help, everyone saves. GreyStone Power recently announced the winners of the GreyStone Power Foundation, Inc. scholarship. The five lucky winners received a $3,000 scholarship toward funding their education.
Special congratulations go to Laura Dart, Victoria Menjivar, Mary Cate Robish, Mary Kate Smith and Amy Wang for their outstanding work.
Scholarships are awarded to GreyStone Power members or their children who are seniors in high school or enrolled in college this fall.  One question I'm often asked is "What's the best part about being a member of a GreyStone Power?"
