Together We Save - Tip of Month |
Smart home landscaping can lower your electric bills. Trees on the east and west sides of your home provide shade--and reduce your cooling costs--during hot summer months. Shade for your air conditioner can save 10 percent of your cooling costs. And by adding vegetation to the north side of your home, you can reduce winter winds that trigger higher heating costs. Find more ways to save at TogetherWeSave.com.

Upcoming Board Election |
Can you believe it is already that time of the year again? Annual Meeting will be here before you know it (Oct. 13), and you will have the opportunity to fill the seats for three GreyStone Power Board of Directors.
In order to prepare for the elections, the Nominating Committee will review all nomination forms or petitions received by members in order to determine which applicants to interview. A member may still be placed on the ballot by submitting a petition signed by 50 or more GreyStone members of record (the name must appear on the electric bill). The deadline to submit the completed petition to GreyStone is Thursday, July 5, by 5 p.m. You may call 770-370-2066 or visit greystonepower.com to download a petition.
Contested elections will be conducted by mail-in ballot. All nominees are subject to a criminal background check. Candidates that wish to have their name and biographical information included in the Annual Meeting ballot edition must submit information in the format and manner required by the Credentials and Elections Committee by Friday, July 6. Candidates must live within the geographic boundary of the district seat they seek, and meet all other conditions of eligibility. See rules of eligibility and a district map in GreyStone's Bylaws, available online at greystonepower.com. If you are unable to determine the district in which you reside, or need additional information, call GreyStone's independent legal counsel, Steve Minor, at 770-214-5108.
Directors currently serving and seeking re-election this year are: Calvin Earwood, District 1, Paulding, Bartow; Burnell Redding, District 4, Carroll, Douglas; and Jim Johns, District 8, Douglas. |
