Winter Rates are in Effect |
Can you believe the holiday season is upon us? With all the holiday spending to do, isn't it comforting to know that you can save money this winter with our competitive winter rates? In the Residential Rate Survey for winter 2011, the Georgia Public Service Commission lists GreyStone's rates as the eighth lowest in the state among 42 electric cooperatives. Rates were based on the 1,000 kilowatt-hour (kWh) usage mark, which is the closest average of our members per month. GreyStone successfully negotiated a contract with Morgan Stanley Commodities Group that became effective in January. Normally new contracts mean higher rates, but in this case negotiations with our new energy provider were seamless, resulting in no rate increases for our members through at least 2012. Yeah! The winter rate schedule runs from November through May. Conserve your energy this season by keeping your thermostat set at 68 degrees or lower during the winter months, and notice the difference on your electric bill! GreyStone also offers several other resources to help you save energy. Be sure to visit both our website ( greystonepower.com) and togetherwesave.com for numerous ways you can reduce your electric bill. Want to see how we measure up? Compare our rates with other cooperatives in the state and see how we rank.

You Saved $1 MILLION Dollars! |
CONGRATULATIONS!!! By using your Co-op Connections Card to receive a discount for your prescription, you have helped to save over $1 MILLION in discount savings. That's HUGE!
In October, GreyStone became the fifth of 395 participating cooperatives to reach this benchmark. We thank you for your continued support of the program and hope that you will continue to use the benefits offered to you as a member of GreyStone.
As a matter of fact, a couple of benefits just became FREE to you! The Cooperative Healthy Savings and Savings Plus programs which once were available for a small monthly fee have now become FREE to all GreyStone members. That's right--FREE! And the discount program has expanded to include lab work and imaging. So, under the Healthy Savings Program, you can receive discounted dental care, hearing aids, lab work & imaging, vision and chiropractic care! In order to receive the new benefits, you will need a new Co-op Connections card with the participating logos on the back. To learn more about these programs or to print your temporary card, visit connections.coop.
We would also like to remind everyone to continue to compare Co-op Connection prescription costs versus costs through your insurance carrier. The Co-op Connections Card could still be cheaper in some instances. For those of you without insurance, this could be the deciding factor whether or not you can afford the medication. Remember, you can use your discount savings card on children's prescriptions, as well as adults.

Protect Yourself |

With the holidays upon us, so is the inevitable rise in crime. Times are tough and let's face it, people historically get desperate during this time of the year. No one wants to think about bad things during such a spirited time of the year, and we certainly don't want to think that a burglary could happen to us, but it could, no matter what kind of neighborhood we live in. If your house were burglarized today, would you be protected? How would you handle the situation? Do you have a plan? It's never too late to develop one and put it into action. For the amount that you could spend on a nice dinner in a restaurant, you can protect your home and your family for a month and have the peace of mind knowing that you are safe. Let EMC Security become a part of your plan. EMC Security has state of the art equipment and offers many different systems for both homeowners and businesses without any hidden costs or long term contracts. In addition to security systems, the Medical Alert System is a popular service which allows you to explain your emergency to a certified, 24-hour emergency response technician by speaking directly into a personal, water-proof pendant. It's the smallest two-way communication device in the industry. For more information about how EMC Security could help make your holiday season a peaceful one, call 770-963-0335 or visit emcsecurity.com. |
