Important News to Know! |
The Customer Care and Billing (CCB) system is slated to launch on April 4. In preparation for the conversion, several different types of communication will be mailed to you detailing system changes and our conversion process. It is important for you to read this conversion information as your account may be affected.
Some important nuggets-to-know:

- FREE Automatic debit/credit card draft.
- E-check and debit/credit card convenience fees will be $3.50 for residential members and $14.95 for commercial members. These fees are charged directly by Fiserv (Bill Matrix), not GreyStone.
- Additional self-service features will be added to our newly improved, interactive website and interactive voice response (IVR) phone system.

All GreyStone employees will report to work as usual to enable the conversion process, and GreyStone's outage reporting system, dispatch and repair crews will still be available. To report an outage, call 770-942-6576 or 770-949-7880. GEMC Federal Credit Union will be open for business as usual.

Energy-efficient option for an old refrigerator: Recycle it!
You moved your old fridge to the garage or basement when you bought a new ENERGY STAR-qualified refrigerator. But when you realized how much energy and money it was costing just to keep a few drinks cold, you pulled the plug on that old refrigerator.
Now what? Here's a tip that can earn you some cash.
The best way to dispose of an old fridge is to recycle it. And if that fridge is more than 17 years old, it should be recycled. That's because the refrigerant and insulation in older refrigerators may contain chemicals--chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs--that are a potent greenhouse gas. Recycling a refrigerator bought before 1993 ensures that CFCs aren't released into the atmosphere.
Recycling also saves energy, enough to light a 13-Watt ENERGY STAR compact fluorescent light bulb for more than two and a half years. And recycling saves the steel in an old refrigerator--approximately 123 pounds--which can then be used to make new products.
For recycling centers in your area, visit earth911.com.
