 A SUCCESS!!
The The Home Builders and Remodelers Association hosted the 43rd annual Vermont Home and Garden Show during the weekend of April 20th. The show was once again a success with over 175 vendors in the show and it seemed like everyone who attended the show had a great time. About the same number of attendees joined us this year as last year. The silent auction took in over $4,700 with partial proceeds to benefit Rebuilding Together. Special thanks to Curtis Lumber Company for being the Presenting Sponsor of the show this year. We cannot forget all the other sponsors of the show: Efficiency Vermont, Free Press Media, Windjammer Hospitality Group, Pillsbury Manor, Otter Creek Awnings, Sunrooms & Custom Closets and Catamount Color. The show would not have been a success without you. Click Here to see pictures of the show. Planning has already begun for the 2013 show, so mark your calendars for April 19-21, 2013.

_______________________________________________ | Solar Decathlon Department of Energy
Competition: Shadow a building project - want to help? "My name is Bree Baccaglini and I am a student at Middlebury College. After our success in the 2011 Solar Decathlon Department of Energy Competition, we are beginning a new on a sustainable building project for the 2013 competition. This entails designing and executing a residential home in a 22-month push, with the bulk of the building effort taking place April-August of 2013.
Before we begin the actual construction effort, members of the construction team--myself included--want to get on-site exposure in order to better understand the processes and materials used in residential building projects. As such, we are reaching out to local building companies with the hope of shadowing a building project for a day in the next month and a half or so. We would also be interested in building tutorials or advice from your group about basic construction practices."
