Make 2010 a WOW year!
Women on Wales - May 11-21, 2010 |
Greetings!
I hope you are enjoying a relaxed and happy summer. In this edition of Fe-mail we are pleased to bring you the latest news from Broad Horizons. (If pictures don't appear on screen, you may need to click OK to download photos. Link is often located under your tool bar)
To begin with, an important milestone lies ahead. Everyone here is very excited that in May 2010, we're celebrating the 5th anniversary of Broad Horizons. To commemorate this special occasion we've planned a wonderful reunion in Wales.
Over the years the United Kingdom has been a favourite destination for the ladies of Broad Horizons. In 2005 the 'maiden' voyage of BH was a magical trip to Ireland, followed by historic Scotland in 2006 and fascinating England in 2007.
Long considered the U.K.'s hidden gem, Wales is the perfect destination to celebrate the friendships and travel adventures that have been shared over the past five years.
On this special anniversary trip we've planned a fantastic tour with BH founder Susan Pearson that will reunite travel buddies from past trips, as well as a unique opportunity to meet some new faces who plan to join this extraordinary tour.

| Visit the classic British seaside resort of Llandudno |
Llandudno is the perfect setting for our WOW reunion. With its Victorian and Edwardian splendour you'll love the wide promenade lined with elegant Victorian pastel-coloured hotels, quaint cafes and charming shops preserved in this classic British seaside resort, framed between the cliffs of the Great and Little Orme Headland. |
| Enjoy Can - Y - Bae......... rated as best hotel in U.K ! |
Our base for the first four nights is the centrally-located, privately owned Can Y Bae Hotel. Since the late nineteenth century, the Can-Y-Bae (Song of the bay) has provided an elegant escape from busy everyday life. Can-Y-Bae offers a relaxed elegance and a contemporary twist at the centre of Llandudno's gently curving sea-front promenade. The sixteen bedroom hotel offers first class accommodation with double and single rooms available. Rated in January 2009 by Trip Advisor as the best hotel in the U.K. we've arranged for Broad Horizons to have 'Sole Occupancy' in this charming boutique hotel during our special anniversary tour.

| FROM THE FOUNDER |
Has it really been 5 years?
When I first started out on this adventure of building a woman's travel network it was primarily because I felt that travel was one of the best ways to live life to the fullest.
Five years later I am even more certain that few things in life bring the enrichment and perspective on life; that travel offers. As I write these words I am leafing through our BH scrapbook that is filled with wonderful photos of our trips together. I can't help but laugh as I look at the photo of Esther and Char receiving their Master Taster Awards at Bushmill's in Ireland.
Remember our Forever Plaid contest in Scotland? The creativity was incredible - can you believe that Betty Anne could actually craft a purse out of plaid gift wrap and a stapler?
One of my favourite memories is the night in Venice when we sipped champagne under the stars at a concert in St Mark's Square. Another treasured memory is sailing down the Thames in London, as we sang our hearts out to West End show tunes.
(These are only a few of the special travel memories we've shared over the years.)
Looking back, we've seen firsthand that women have a keen interest in learning more about the world they live in and eagerly embrace the idea of lifelong learning.
Our culinary tour to Italy's Amalfi Coast was a delectable week of cooking and sightseeing and we returned with a number of tips and recipes to make our Canadian table a little more interesting. It's amazing how cooking with a glass of wine in hand and Il Divo on the stereo makes you feel a little more creative!
The artistic opportunities for those of us who love photography have been tremendous over the past 5 years. Spectacular views have always been a key component in our itineraries and dinner at the top of the Eiffel Tower was an example of the WOW factor being alive and well!
From the beginning we have always stressed the importance of the 'WOW factor' to our travel suppliers, when planning our BH trips. For our 5th anniversary tour we will be offering 2010 WOW - Women on Wales! What could be a more perfect theme in keeping with our mission of creating wonderful tours for women!
As we approach our 5th anniversary, I would like to personally invite you to join us for this special celebration trip to Wales. We've shared so many great travel adventures over the past five years. Going forward with Bonnie and the BH team, we are super excited about the extraordinary travel experiences we'll share with you in the months ahead!
For a quick glimpse of the great memories we've shared on past trips, please click here: Photo Album
In closing, I'll be practicing my Welsh and I will look forward to welcoming you to Wales!
Iechyd da (Cheers, good health)
