| SHE Sees Southern Spain! |
Dear friends,
With summer just around the corner, I'm writing to give you a quick update on our next exciting BH trip that I will be escorting to Southern Spain (Oct 13 - 25)
If you've been considering this trip I encourage you to contact us today and book your spot. (The response has been great for this tour and the space is filling up fast!)
When the weather turns cool, why not pack your bags and join us? When we take our group photo in spectacular Spain, I would love to see YOU in the picture! To provide you with the very best experience, we've planned a "hub and spoke trip." That means we stay in key locations for multiple nights. Women love this feature because it eliminates the need to unpack and repack all the time. It is much more relaxing and you can truly soak in the ambiance and charm of the destination.
Madrid is a stunning city and the itinerary we've chosen for Southern Spain takes us to the most beautiful spots! I guarantee that this is a destination you'll fall in love with and remember forever!
Southern Spain (Andalucia) is just about as close to paradise as it's possible to get. Blessed with a stunning countryside, majestic mountains and a long Mediterranean coastline, Andalucia gave birth to Pablo Picasso and held an enduring fascination for Ernest Hemingway.
Our itinerary for this enchanted land has been specially planned so that it provides for rich group experiences, as well as time at leisure for personal choices. Read on for a brief overview of trip highlights.
Space is limited so I encourage you to contact us today!

| What women like you are saying..... |
This is my 6th trip with the ladies of Broad Horizons and each trip is as informative, fun filled and memorable as the last. River cruising in Belgium/ Holland was a first for me and it exceeded my expectations. Meeting some of my former travel companions was great, as well as forging new friendships. Let's meet again soon! Norma Dolbear, Corunna, Ontario
Travelling with Broad Horizons has always been a joy! As I have been on a number of BH trips, I must say that it is great travelling with the friends I've made on these trips. This group of women enjoy life, laugh, and are considerate of one another on the many travels and adventures around the world. Lynda Himmelman, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia
The trip to Switzerland and Austria was my first with Broad Horizons. I have never had this much fun on a trip and will surely be a repeat customer. The overall feeling of the trip was upbeat and we shared lots of laughs and unique experiences.
Judy Weisgerber, Nanaimo, British Columbia
This trip will be fondly remembered as I shared 'Taste of Tuscany' with my daughter Heather. What great memories we will have for the rest of our lives. Not only experiencing travelling to Europe but the culture, dining and of course shopping. The trip was fantastic!
Brenda Hanzel, Boyle, Alberta

On a past trip to Ireland one of our members encouraged six of her colleagues to sign up. In doing so, she received $600 towards the cost of her own trip! | Maid in Madrid! |
Welcome to Spain!
On arrival, the BH Maidens will begin their adventure with a panoramic sight-seeing tour of Madrid.
Autumn is one of the best times to visit Madrid, so you can look forward to enjoying this city at the optimum time. From the charming streets of Old Madrid to the opulence of Bourbon Madrid, the city is filled with historic treasures. To celebrate our first day in this captivating city we'll share the evening together at our " Maid in Madrid" welcome dinner. |
| Andalucia - the soul of the south! |
An exciting train ride will transport us to Southern Spain (Andalucia). You'll love the panoramic views of the countryside, as we travel across the plains of La Mancha toward our home for 3 nights in Seville.
Andalucia, or Al-Andalus from Arabic "Land of the Light", lies at one of the world's great crossroads: where Europe meets Africa, and the Mediterranean joins the Atlantic Ocean. Known for its formal gardens, the quality of light and the colors of Andalucia (Southern Spain) are astounding!
| Breath-taking Cordoba |
|
Cordoba was one of the most beautiful cities in the world. In its heyday it was Europe's largest city, the center of learning, culture, medicine and science, considered the Mecca of the west.. Today, it boasts magnificent palaces, baths, mosques and gardens from its Moorish past as the capital of Al-Andalus.
The town is dominated by the magnificent Mezquita - the Great Mosque of Cordoba, surrounded by the tiny streets of the Judería (Jewish Quarter) with their flower filled patios
Alcazár, another must-see in Cordoba are the beautiful gardens of the Catholic Kings, where Columbus first sought to finance his voyage of discovery from Fernando and Isabella.
To take a stroll through the historic quarter of Cordoba is to discover a beautiful network of small streets, alleys, squares and whitewashed courtyards. |
| The Charm of Seville |
The quintessentially Spanish town of Seville is filled with beauty and exuberance in the middle of a quaint land of white-washed houses and flower-filled patios.
It enchants with its winding, cobbled streets, hidden baroque churches, intimate plazas and great shopping. Seville's streets are lined with some of Spain's best restaurants, cafes and bars, serving tapas and other typical Andalucian food and drink.
There is plenty to see including the Cathedral which is now reckoned to be the world's largest church. There are steps from inside the Cathedral to the top which provides great views of the countryside. |
| Majestic Ronda |
Get your cameras ready!
Ronda retains much of its historic charm, particularly its old town.
Famous worldwide for its dramatic escarpments and views, you can be sure that our photographs and trip DVD of this stunning landscape will be breath-taking! |
| Marvelous Malaga |
Malaga is the stepping stone to the Costa del Sol. This gem of a city with a fascinating old quarter next to the Roman theatre and Moorish palace is a commercial center with first class shopping and a vibrant social life. Malaga is also the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and the museum commemorating his artistic achievement has firmly put the city of Malaga on the tourist map.
|
| World Famous - Costa del Sol |
The Costa del Sol ("Sun Coast" or, more literally, "Coast of the Sun") is a region in the south of Spain, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, comprising the coastal towns and communities along the Mediterranean coastline of the Málaga province and the eastern edge of the Cádiz province.
Formerly made up only of a series of small, quiet fishing settlements, the region has been completely transformed during the latter part of the 20th century into a tourist destination of world renown.

| VIsiting "The Jewel" - Granada |
|
Granada lies in the foothills of Spain's Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Many visitors believe that if there is only one place to visit in Spain, it should be Granada.
The Alhambra Palace in Granada is Spain´s most-visited tourist attraction. It has been described as 'the Jewel of Moorish Spain' and visitors are usually overwhelmed by its beauty.
"Nothing in life could be more cruel than to be blind in Granada," reads an inscription within the walls of the Alhambra.
First time visitors to Granada are delighted to find that the tapas culture thrives in this city. Not only are they good, they're also free. Just order a drink and in most bars you'll be given a tapa with it.

| Award Winning Toledo |
Toledo - A Traveller's Choice 2008 Award Winner
Rated as "one of the top 100 destinations in the world," Toledo offers Spain's greatest wealth of monuments and preserves an artistic and cultural legacy in the form of churches, palaces, fortresses, mosques and synagogues.
This great diversity of artistic styles makes the old quarter of the capital of La Mancha a real open-air museum, which has led to it being declared a World Heritage Site.

| Fantastic Food and Wine! |
|
For many travelers today, the Andalucian cuisine is one of the main reasons to visit Southern Spain.
History and geography have intertwined to create one of the most varied and rewarding cuisines in the world.
With its close proximity to the sea you might have guessed that southern Spain is renowned for its fresh seafood. An authentic privilege for the most discerning palates their selection of mussels, prawns, giant shrimp and fresh fish is especially rich and varied.
In cookbooks and on television, Spain's cuisine has become a must-have because of it's health benefits and fresh ingredients. Even this year's Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival - typically a celeb-fest tribute to the American food scene - was kicked off with an ode to Spanish cooking complete with a dinner for King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia. |
| Times of your life! |

Travel is one of the best ways to live your life to the fullest!

With travel, our minds become more curious, our hearts more powerful, and our spirits more joyous.

No nation has as many World Heritage Cities as Spain! You can be certain that our 13 day custom tour of Southern Spain (Oct 13-25) will be another wonderful addition to your "memory book". Sense of Wonder
To have a sense of wonder means to be constantly filled with admiration, amazement, and awe about the surprises life brings you every day.
A sense of wonder is the ultimate protection against cynicism and fatigue. On any given day, you and I are gifted with a series of extraordinary sights, sounds, feelings, tastes and smells that provide a feast for the senses. Enjoy them consciously and with gratitude.
There are no small things in life. Everything is a miracle if you choose to see it as such.
