Helping to Connect Everyone to the Internet
Bret PerkinsBret Perkins, Vice President, External & Government Affairs, Comcast Corporation (in photo) appeared on Financial Voices Radio WURD 900 AM this week with host Sharmain Matlock-Turner to talk about Comcast's Internet Essentials. The program helps low-income families get connected to the Internet at a low cost. It is available to families with children who are receiving free or reduced school lunch in a Comcast service area. In Philadelphia, 41 percent of citizens do not have access to the Internet at home - according to a 2008 report from the Knight Foundation. UAC's Freedom Rings Partnership is a partner with Internet Essentials.
