Today, more and more businesses are using social media sites (i.e. facebook, LinkedIn, skype, & etc.) to stay in contact with their customers and market to them. One of the easiest ways to increase your business and to help make sure you have ongoing sales each year from your current customers and new ones that come on board with you is to sell renewable subscriptions. Almost every network security, desktop security and data protection product has some sort of renewable subscription service available to add on. Many come bundled with them.
If you are not taking advantage of these services whether it is simply for support or for a security bundle, you're leaving money on the table and doing both you and your customers a disservice. At the very least, your appliances should have some kind or subscription service bundled with them that provides not only phone/web support but also firmware/software updates and hardware replacement.
