Currently Roswell Nursing & Rehab in Roswell, GA, cannot afford to take their residents anywhere and haven't been able to for over 3 years. They have a lot of residents that have been here for 10+ years, and most of them haven't been out for any trips.The only places they can physically go to, are the ones we can walk/roll to and crossing Alpharetta Hwy is dangerous. If they had a van, they would be able to enjoy all sorts of fun shopping, restaurants, museums, etc. The quality of life for their residents would greatly improve. The residents have been raising money in various ways including a country store they operate within the ECC. They have raised over $20,000 towards the van. As the days get busier, we invite you to visit our SWD Forum available to all registered members at our website. Here you can interact with SWD staff, volunteers and dreamweavers around the globe! Please take a moment to join the conversations! You will have to log in to see the forum. There is also a VDT Forum. If you own a VDT kit, you can register as a VDT user and access the VDT forum. Simply click here. Follow the steps and submit. After we verify your information, your VDT account will be approved and activated. We have had an incredible response to our Lifetime membership promotion. If you haven't checked it out, be sure you do! New Jersey Veteran's Memorial Home Excells!

In July, the New Jersey Veteran's Home in Vineland received a scholarship from SWD and the Harrah's Foundation. Since then, along with their H.E.R.O. dream team led by JoAnn Vroom, they have fulfilled 32 dreams of their elders! The dreams range from a romanitc dinner for a couple's wedding anniversary to a trip to the Philadelphia Eagles training camp for a spcial group of veterans. The American Legion and VFW posts in Vineland have assisted with some of the dream fulfillments. |

2011 Convention Date Set
Second Wind Dreams will hold it's annual convention on June 23 & 24, 2011 in Marietta, GA. Save the date and plan to join us for a time of learning, dreaming and networking! More information to follow!
Remember, the member that turns in the most dream outcome reports for the calendar year of 2010 will receive a free trip to our convention! So gather all of your dreams up and submit the outcomes! You can submit all outcomes online at the "create a dream" screen or by traditional means through email, snail mail and fax. If you need assistance, please contact our membership director. |

Holy Cow - Somerford!
When Somerford, in Encinitas, CA, discovered that one of their elders wanted to milk a cow, they got right on it. With the help of their H.E.R.O. team from Harrah's Rincon and the Milk Advisory Board, a cow was brought to their ECC and their dreamer, Ms. Emma got her wish! In addition, anyone else who wanted to milk the cow was invited to try it as well. Somerford celebrated with a "Farm Days" event and everyone joined in the fun!
