Dear Members, Friends and Supporters,
Last week, Second Wind Dreams embarked on a new chapter as we released our much anticipated new website. The site includes an interactive map which will allow visitors to search geographical locations for elder care communities who are using the Second Wind Dreams program to improve the quality of life for the elders they serve. The map also allows you, as a member, to include your website and contact information for perspective residents or family members who might visit our site in search of an elder care community. Along with the map, the site offers a members only section where our members can post dreams they are working on with specific needs and allow visitors to our site to become donors and help make dreams come true! Donors can make monetary and in-kind donations through the site. In our next release, there will be additional features including a chat feature and interactive calendar for posting events in your area. There will also be a special section for VDT users to interact with one another. There will be a section for volunteers to sign up and be assigned to an ECC in their locality. And many, many more features to come in the future! We are very excited about this new era and hope you will visit and take advantage of the new members only access. If you are a member in good standing, you should have received a login and password for the new site via email. If you haven't received it yet, please let me know, If we do not have an email on file, you will need to email me for your login information. You can also choose the "forgot my password" link. Here you can enter the email associated with your membership. This is the email we have on file with your membership. If you are unsure of what email we have on file please contact us. If you know the email associated with your membership, simply enter that email and your user name and a link to change your password will be emailed to that address. Any questions, feel free to contact me directly at laurie@secondwind.org. Please keep in mind that with any new website launch, we may discover bugs that need fixed. If you experience any difficulties when using the site, please let me know so I can consult with our programmers. Also, if you have suggestions on how to improve the site, we welcome those suggestions as well. The web address has not changed. You can click here to see the new site right away! As always, Dream Big! Sincerely, Laurie Labishak Second Wind Dreams |

VDT Companion DVD Released!
"Finally, the much anticipated DVD of the behind the scenes look at the Virtual Dementia Tour, is here. For those of you with a VDT kit, this DVD is for you! It will help you make the most of the VDT experience, taught to you by the author and creator of the VDT, P.K. Beville, MS. You will get to see the VDT in action at an Eider Care Community. This is especially for those of you who need to dust off the VDT and make good use of your investment in your staff. The guidelines for dementia education are pretty clear for caregivers. The Virtual Dementia Tour meets and exceeds these guidelines in a way that all staff can identify with your elders, resulting in better care. For those of you who have yet to make the VDT available to your staff, the VDT kit now includes the DVD. Don't take our word for it, take the words of over 15,000 people worldwide that are experiencing this hands on, revolutionary experience." |

Dream Date
After a trip to the Estee' Lauder Counter at Macy's, where Helen received a complimentary make over, she enjoyed lunch with her long time friend, at Fischer's Restaurant. This is where they have eaten lunch every Sunday after church for many years! Helen & Ray enjoyed a lovely afternoon sharing stories and reminiscing about their times together. This dream was made possible by the Carlyle Healthcare Dream Team in Carlyle, Illinois. |
