Dear Members, Supporters and Friends,

Second Wind Dreams is very excited to announce that we are nearly ready to launch our brand new website!  The new site will have a "members only" section where members will be able to post dream needs and track both in-kind and monetary donations for each dream!  We are calling this feature our "E-Dreams Network".  We expect to launch the site in the next two weeks and will keep you posted!

In the meantime, we need you to begin compiling a list of dreams that you are working on that you will have ready to post when the site goes "live".  Each of our current members will receive login information via the email address that we have on file.  Once you receive your login information, you will be able to begin posting dream needs to the members only section.  All dream requests received will have to be approved by SWD before being available online.  Once a submission is received, we will verify the member eldercare community and you will receive an email when the dream is posted online.

Dreams will then be searchable by anyone who comes to our site.  They will be able to search by location, key words, dream type and much more!  The site will be interactive and exciting!  We are looking forward to sharing this with all of you!  We hope you like the new look and feel of the site and will visit frequently!

Warmly,

Laurie Labishak

CNN Dream Comes True!
Roselyn with Rick Sanchez of CNN
CNNDream

Roselyn and CNN

Roselyn is 91 years old.  She watches Rick Sanchez everyday 3 to 5PM.  Nothing stands in her way, friends, food, BINGO, etc. Roselyn, Kathleen - her niece, Roger Brittingham, AD, Rayna, volunteer SWD and Jean SWD were allowed in newsroom with Rick from 4 to 5PM.  He introduced her on the air several times, with the camera cutting to her often.    Spunky Roselyn had tears of joy and just could not believe she was actually there.  Her many friends at Elmcroft of Southern Pines were watching and saw the whole thing.  She is a Celeb in her elder care community.

Roger Brittingham, Activity Director at  Elmcroft of Southern Pines shared the following information about Roselyn with us!

Roselyn Jones was born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey on July 30th 1918. Roselyn has always been a high achiever, you can sense that now in everything she says and participates in. Roselyn graduated from the Elementary and High Schools of that community and then matriculated at the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Paterson. After graduation, she served at Mountainside Hospital, Montclair, as assistant nurse in the obstetrical department.

In 1955, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University. During her twenty year tenure at Paterson General, Mrs. Jones served as a general duty nurse, head floor nurse, instructor in nursing arts in the hospital school of nursing. It took her marriage in 1961 to pull her away from an outstanding career in nursing.

Roselyn married Robert Jones, not to be mistaken with the golfer. The two of them migrated to New Port Richey, Florida, for many years of happiness.  She has no children.  She has a niece that visits and is like a daughter.

Currently Roselyn enjoys such things as reading, scrabble, exercise, bingo and of course watching news programming on CNN. Rick Sanchez is her favorite host and she watches his program everyday that it is available. Roselyn reads at least two books per week, her favorites are those written by Lillian Jackson Braun, Mary Higgins Clark, James Patterson, and Nicholas Sparks.

Roselyn believes that being a Leo has made her a leader and seasoned in fierce competition. Roselyn enjoys the atmosphere and people's friendliness most , here at Elmcroft of Southern Pines, NC.
