Dear Dreamweavers & Supporters,

Would you like an easy way to support Second Wind Dreams® on a daily basis?  Please download the "Good Search" toolbar.  Good Search works just like google or bing, only when you set it up, you select Second Wind Dreams as the charity you want to support and everytime you search, a donation is made to Second Wind Dreams®!  Also, if you shop online, many retailers participate in Good Search and a percentage of your purchase will also be donated!  For example, if you shop at sears.com, they will donate .5 - 1% of your total purchase back to Second Wind Dreams®, at ebay.com, they will donate up to 37.5% back to Second Wind Dreams®!  But you have to download the toolbar and use it to search!  Follow the easy instructions when you click the link below!

Warmly,
Laurie Labishak
Director of Membership & Chapter Development

Honoring Our American Heroes

Second Wind Dreams® has always sought to honor the men and women who have served our country in the Armed Forces.  With our weekly e-blast, we would like to honor one of these individuals each week from our member ECCs.  We need your help to make this happen.  We would ask that you submit photos of your veterans, in uniform if at all possible, and a brief story about their service to our country.  We will select one story for each week and let you know when your elder's stories will be used.  We are hoping that the response is so great that we may be able to honor more than one each week!  Be sure and get the elder's permission before submitting the story and picture.  Submit stories by clicking the link below.

108 Year Old Graduates High School

Ann Kampwerth is a resident of Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle, IL.  She turned 108 years old in February! She said she wished she had graduated from high school as she believes that education is a key to a good life, you should never stop learning. We hooked up with the local newspaper and the high school and she was presented an honorary high school diploma! It was a moving experience. We played pomp and circumstance in the background and all of her children were here and the Carlyle High School Principal presented her with her diploma. She was exstatic and wore her graduation cap and gown for most of the afternoon.  Dreams really do come true - no matter your age or circumstance!  (Last week we included this picture in a collage of dream story pictures and I made a mistake with the age of the dreamer!  I thought it was worth sending out again with the correct age and the whole story!  My apologies to everyone at Carlyle Healthcare and especially to Ann Kempworth!)
Graduating at 108!
