God's Abundance |
|

"God is able to make all grace abound unto you; that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound unto every good work."
Book of Paul
Difficult times bring out questions, doubts, and fears about what brings success, safety, and financial freedom. We pile up possessions through hard work and blindly grinding forth, then grow into the thought that these are the real means of attaining prosperity. But possessions gained in this way rest on a very insecure foundation and can easly be swept away.
Is this what our Creator intended? Charles Fillmore, in Keep a True Lent, says that God planned for us more permanant possessions. 'Access to this permanent source of all man's good lies in one's power to possess and mold in thought the omnipresent substance of Spirit.... The invisible thought substance provided for us is very sensitive to our thought about it; that is, about the things that originally came from it and that we claims as our possessions.'
Charles Fillmore gives the following beliefs about prosperity:
- Giving: If man hoards the things that he seems to possess, he clogs the spiritual channel from which they originally flowed and so receives sparingly from that source. God, being the giver of inexhaustible ideas of plenty, loves those who abandon themselves to a cheerful state of mind in giving.
- Gratitude: the discipline of acknowledging the supreme Giver of all good whenever we receive.
- Tithing: this is undoubtedly the most expansive practice of giving and gratitude. By the act of tithing, we make God our partner in our financial transactions and thus keep the channel open from the Source in the ideal to the manifestation in the realm of things.
- Become joyful as children. Jesus said that before we can enter the kingdom of the heavens we must become as little children. Most children are bubbling over with happiness.
All work becomes divine for us when we affirms that we are working for God and that God is a generous giver. Then joy and gladness of heart will automatically spring up in the soul "by reason of the abundance of all things." This means that when we praise God and give thanks for His supply and support we open our mind to the inflow of the abundant spiritual essence of all things.
So, let's keep our thoughts centered on God as Source and Substance and the foundation of all of our good. |

The Power of Prosperity |
|
The Prosperity Council has teamed up with Unity Churches International to bring you The Power of Prosperity - monthly thoughts for reflection on prosperity, along with ideas for practices you can use to build your own consciousness.
The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity - Chapter 3
"You have heard that Nature abhors a vacuum." Catherine Ponder
The vacuum law of prosperity, tells us that if you want greater good, greater prosperity in your life, start forming a vacuum to receive it. In other words, get rid of what you don't want to make room for what you do want. If you have studied many prosperity books, attended many prosperity classes and workshops and quoted the prosperity affirmations till you are blue in the face, but still are not manifesting the prosperity you want this is probably the problem.
Here is where one of the twelve powers really comes into play. It is the power of release. ...It is effective to do the physical action to make room for your good. Clean out those closets, empty those drawers, get rid of the storage unit. Practice the law of giving and receiving. Create an intentional vacuum. ...
Having made way in the material realm, take a look at creating a vacuum in the health, financial, mental, and spiritual realms also. Start with your health. When you use statements like my cold, my arthritis, or my headache, you are claiming these conditions in your life. Be conscious of what you are asking for. ...
Our fifth basic principle tells us that we must put into practice what we know to be true. When we don't, spiritual growth stops. No matter how many books you have read or classes you have attended, if you are not practicing what you learned and then creating a vacuum in your spiritual life you will stagnate and stop spiritually maturing.

The Power of Prosperity - Practice Exercises |
Isn't it astounding that the Power of Prosperity chapter and exercise speak about creating a vacuum in your life just as we, Unity on the Bay, are collecting for our rummage sale? Divine Order in action!
Anytime is a great time to start looking in closets, drawers, and attic. Think of how these possessions have served you in the past. Take a moment to appreciate, then truly let them go. Box them up, bless them for the next person, and take them out of your house. Now take time to appreciate the freedom of letting go, of finding spaciousness in your life. Write about how you felt in packing up your possessions, then write about how you felt when you came home to the space left by them. How are the feelings different? How do they relate to your sense of prosperity?
We would love to hear your stories on creating a vacuum in your life! |

The 1892 Covenant of Charles and Myrtle Fillmore

Dedication and Covenant
We, Charles Fillmore and Myrtle Fillmore, husband and wife, hereby dedicate ourselves, our time, our money, all we have and all we expect to have, to the Spirit of Truth, and through it, to the Society of Silent Unity. It being understood and agreed that the Said Spirit of Truth shall render unto us an equivalent for this dedication, in peace of mind, health of body, wisdom, understanding, love, life, and an abundant supply of all things necessary to meet every want without making any of these things the object of our existence. In the presence of the Conscious Mind of Christ Jesus, this 7th day of December A.D. 1892.
