The first Chamber Cash Mob was a success! Changing Seasons Gift Gallery located in the Englewood Station Arts District was "mobbed" by
customers looking to buy. The attendee's became "certified cash mobbsters." Stay tuned for our next Cash Mob in June.
Congratulation to the new Hilllcrest Thriftstore located at 936 S Third Street, Lee's Summit, MO.
The event brought together surrounding communities celebrating one theme....business. Thank you to all the Independence Chamber members that made the ribbon cutting.

|  Member: The Fountains At Greenbriar Gallery Café to Open at The Fountains at Greenbriar What's for lunch? Residents and associates of The Fountains at Greenbriar, along with the public, will have exciting new soup, salad and sandwich options when the Gallery Café opens inside the Independence community this month. The Gallery Café menu will feature a daily changing menu of fresh house-made specials such as Mediterranean Lentil Soup, Smoked Turkey Panini, Pesto Focaccia Sandwich, Yogurt Parfaits and Lemon Squares, to name a few. Menu items will be available for sampling at a grand opening celebration on May 7th from 1:30 -3:00 pm at 2100 S. Swope Drive. The Gallery Café will be open thereafter every weekday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. "Variety is the spice of life and the Gallery Café is a very exciting new addition to our community," said Desiree Rogers, Executive Director. "We welcome neighbors to stop in for a delicious lunch during the week and see our thriving community." |

Youth L.E.A.D.
the 2011-2012 celebrated their graduation of the Youth L.E.A.D. program. Each student learned and worked hard to promote Independence through knowledge and community service.

April Luncheon
It was a full house at this month's membership luncheon. The large crowd showed up early to network and grab a good seat. Mike Sanders, Jackson County Executive spoke about a two county projects. An important topic involved the restoration of the Courthouse and the amenities it will bring to the community. The renovation of the courthouse, located on the historic Independence Square, will not use bonds to pay for the restorations. Sanders expressed the urgency of regional transit system issue. Federal government funding for these systems are depleting and our region is one of the last that do not have a system in the works.

April's Business After Hours was hosted by Silverstein Eye Centers. Members enjoyed a beautiful presentation of food, beverage and atmosphere. Everyone had a great time networking and enjoying the company of each other. Thank you once again to our host and sponsor Silverstein Eye Centers and Chamber members for making this a great event.
The next Business Before Hours will be hosted by - R-G Federal Credit Union on May 10 from 8-9 a.m.
