Cash mobs are successful through the efforts of the community. These events are promoted primarily though social media. Member Spotlight
| Member: Community Blood Center Save A Life, This Summer! Community Blood Center (CBC) invites you and your organization to make a life-saving impact in your community this summer by hosting a blood drive. When you host a life-saving blood drive at your place of business, community center or at your faith-based organization you help local hospital patients in your community. Community Blood Center is the primary supplier of blood and blood components to 70 area hospitals in the region. CBC must collect 580 units of blood daily to meet the needs of patients battling cancer, accident victims and children with various life-threatening diseases. CBC experiences a dramatic decrease in blood donations during the months of July and August; your sponsorship and hosting of a blood drive can and will save lives in your community. The process for hosting a blood drive is simple: - Community Blood Center work hand-in-hand with your organization to strategically plan and execute the blood drive.
- Community Blood Center will share best practices with your group on how to effectively recruit existing and prospective donors.
- Community Blood Center provides the professional staff and state-of-the-art equipment needed to host the blood drive. Your organization will only need to provide the space and of course, the life-saving blood donors.
- If space is an issue, Community Blood Center can provide its mobile blood bus. All your organization needs to provide is ample parking space on a level surface.
You and your organization can make a life-saving impact this summer. For details and information on how to book a blood drive in July and/or August contact Mary Palmer at 816-572-1700 or mpalmer@chbkc.org. Thank you for saving lives in your community! savealifenow.org |

April Luncheon
It was a full house at this month's membership luncheon. The large crowd showed up early to network and grab a good seat. Mike Sanders, Jackson County Executive spoke about a couple of the current project his office is working on. Sanders informed the crowd about the restoration of the Courthouse and the amenities it will bring to the community. Also that the Courthouse, located on the historic Independence Square, will not use bonds to pay for the restorations. Sanders expressed the urgency of regional transit system issue. Federal Government funding for these systems are depleting and our region is one of the last that do not have a system in the works.
Thank you to Edward Jones Investment for sponsoring the April Membership Luncheon.
