Speaker: Dr Ted C. Jones

Senior Vice President-Chief Economist, Stewart Title Guaranty Company; Director of Investor Relations, Stewart Information Services

When do the national and local economies recover?  And home values?  And commercial property values?  Since there is no such thing as a national real estate market or economy, where are the hot spots and the NOT spots?  Are there loan issues, stricter qualifying requirements and 20 percent minimum down payments making a generation of renters verses a generation of homeowners?  What are the opportunities in the housing and commercial sector?  Where are interest rates heading? And inflation?

We are proud to present one of the foremost experts on the relationship between the economy and the real estate industry.  Please join us to get the answers to all these questions and more.  You'll get a glimpse at what 2012 holds for everyone involved with real estate and discover some things you can do to help your business in the coming year.

National Cash Mob Day
CashMobNational Cash Mob Day | March 24 - 2:30pm-3:30pm
Make a difference in the local economy and join the fun and support local businesses on the Square.

What is a Cash Mob?

A cash mob brings community members together much like a flash mob; however, instead of the normal flash-mob activities, the cash mob storms the doors of a preselected mom-and-pop business that is often a cornerstone of a community and its history. Each mobber spend a previously agreed upon amount, usually $10-$20.

The Kansas City Cash Mob is hosting a city wide Cash Mob throughout the Kansas City Metro Area while other groups do the same across the county.  Cash Mobbers will meet on the north side of the Courthouse sharply at 2:30pm
to start the festivities
.

Invite your friends and neighbors to come and support this national event, we want to make a HUGE difference in our local economy.

For more details about the event please visit the Kansas City Cash Mob's Facebook page at

Truman Medical Centers Selected as Candidate for the LIVESTRONG Community Impact Project

Truman Medical Centers (TMC) has been selected as a candidate for the LIVESTRONG®Community Impact Project, which was created to bring proven cancer support programs to communities across the United States.

"We are thrilled and honored to be selected as a candidate for the Community Impact Project," said Lynette Wheeler, TMC Chief Nursing Officer. "We share LIVESTRONG's passion for inspiring and empowering people affected by cancer and look forward to working together to make a difference in the lives of cancer survivors and their families."

Hundreds of qualified hospitals, cancer centers, universities and non-profits from across the United States applied to be part of four different programs:

TMC is a finalist for the Advanced Certification for Palliative Care program. Formal certification by the Joint Commission bring increased services for cancer patients and their families that would benefit from the skill and compassion of the TMC Hospital Hill Palliative Care Team that already consists of Board Certified Physicians, Advanced Practice Nurse, Clinical Social Worker and an experienced, trained professional Chaplain. It would also provide greater visibility for the vital need of Palliative Care for patients dealing with serious chronic illness and end of life decisions and care.

Finalists will be determined through an online voting campaign that begins on Wednesday, March 7 at 10am and ends on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Applicants with the top votes per region will receive a financial award of support to replicate and implement a sustainable program dedicated to supporting families fighting cancer. For more information about the LIVESTRONG Community Impact Project and to vote, visit http://vote.livestrong.org/vote2012/regions/3/23-truman-medical-center-hospital-hill/

The 2012 Community Impact Project will offer nearly $1.4 million in implementation awards to 90 finalists.  This represents the largest number of financial awards LIVESTRONG has granted in a single year in the history of the foundation.  LIVESTRONG is committed to supporting community organizations in their efforts to help cancer survivors face the challenges and changes that come with cancer and has invested more than $70 million in community-centered organizations.
