Chamber Makeover

Chamber Makeover
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
In the past year the Chamber has launched a new website, social sites and two mobile apps. With these new additions to the technology front, there was one item needing a facelift.....the logo. A logo is "an identifying statement," as defined by Merriam-Webster. The Chamber wanted a new look that identified the mission of the organization. The Chamber consulted with Kelly Lightfoot, Owner & Creative Director of Ampersand. Thus Chamber's direction was transformed into the above illustration.
"The greatest goal of the Independence Chamber is to support local business and that's exactly what this new brand identity exemplifies," Kelly states. "With the modern illustration of our local cityscape, we also see a blending of the diverse grouping of businesses which all come together under the banner of the Chamber."
The new look reflects today's Chamber and supports the image as a longstanding organization within the community, providing innovative ideas and services for members and community.

Santa-Cali-Gon Days Festival
| |
Monday, September 5
The last day of the festival is typically a calm day in terms of crowds...not this year! SCG ended with large crowds again on Monday and brought the Fun Under The Sun theme to life with the Macarena Dance at the Main Stage. SCG couldn't have ended any better. Thank you to everyone that participated and volunteered at the festival.
SCG and the Macarena? Who would have thought that over 1,300 people would be doing the Macarena to get SCG into the Guinness Book of World Records . Our goal was 1,800, but we fell a little short. The important part was everyone had fun. Young and old were displaying their Macarena skills. Who knows...maybe we'll try again next year.

Live Bait - Tribute to Jimmy Buffett brought out the parrot heads(Jimmy Buffett fans) to SCG. Live Bait jammed the afternoon away making Monday truly a Fun Under The Sun Day.

Even though the festival was coming to an end, people were still enjoying the carnival. The carnival was packed all day Sunday & Monday with festival goers enjoying the beautiful weather. When the festival officially closed, the Independence Square turned into an ant farm. Vendors packed and moved their merchandise in droves. As the last of the vendors packed their items away, SCG flew by yet again. Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and festival goers for making the 39th Annual Santa-Cali-Gon Days Festival a success!
