TNC Community, founded in 1949, was originally created as the Harry S. Truman Children's Neurological Center. Initially, we assisted and cared for children in a congregate setting. Presently, we work with adults who have been diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in community-integrated group homes and independent supportive living centers (ISLs). Our six group homes and three ISLs are spread out across the Kansas City metro area with the capacity to provide residential and habilitation services for up to 42 individuals. Our services include: residential facilities, transportation, health care management and oversight, facility maintenance, communication service, person-centered planning (implementation-monitoring-adjustment), nutritional services and community integration. We also offer occupational and physical therapies through specialized providers.

What makes TNC Community so unique is its specialty in caring for medically fragile individuals with severe to profound I/DD while still working to achieve their community integration goals that enhance their own quality of life.
