Brazil Expected to Take the Lead in Biotech Crops  

 

Shots Global genetically modified crop plantings rose 8.1 % last year as Brazilian farmers grew more pesticide-resistant soybeans, and the U.S. raised more biotech corn and cotton.

 

Brazil is expected to take the lead as the country with the most biotech crops. It is the first developing country to produce a genetically engineered crop in a public institution.
