Language of the Month: Esperanto 

 Esperanto is a constructed language, which was invented by Ludwig Lazarus Zarnenhof in 1887. As an international auxiliary language it was created to facilitate communication between people who do not share the same mother tongue.

Esperanto was designed with a clear and simple grammatical structure and an international vocabulary in order to facilitate learning.

More Language Humor: When Politicians Try to Speak a Foreign Language  

New York City's Mayor Micheal Bloomberg made a very honorable attempt to address the city's Spanish-speaking citizens in their mother tongue in preparation for Hurricane Irene. As it turns out, however, he still has to work on his 

Michael Bloomberg pronunciation. Hereupon, a New Yorker woman with Puerto Rican and Jewish descent initiated a blog on Twitter poking fun at him.  

But he is not the only politician having difficulties with a foreign language. The German politician Günther Öttinger can tell you a thing or two about that.
