As the number of trials conducted in newly emerging regions continues to increase, Latin America is quickly becoming a dominant region for the outsourcing of clinical research. Although Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico account for the largest number of trials in the region, several other countries are emerging as important centers for clinical research. Despite the single translation requirement, Spanish, linguistic variation and cultural differences must be addressed.
We have published an article in the August issue of the DIA Global Forum entitled
"Clinical Trials in Emerging Latin American Countries: Addressing the challenges"
which discusses the linguistic, cultural, and socio economic differences that must be taken into account in order to conduct successful trials in emerging Latin American countries.
