About The Father's Business
Just a few months ago Mike and Cheryl were at the Chumvi, Kenya Church that meets under a tree...
Now back in America they attended the Labor Day Camp Out for Valle Vista Assembly and had church under the tree - American Style!!!
When they return to America it warms their hearts to see family, friends and meet with those who help support Jesus Frees Ministries. Here are a few of their reunions:
  While having lunch with their son Mark at the Army Fort it was surprising to see a Kenya Soldier at the next table!!! After a few Swahili greetings plans were made to connect in Kenya!!!
About The Father's Business
It isn't easy to leave family and friends for long periods of time but just like a good soldier Christians are enlisted to serve the cause of Jesus Christ. Following Jesus means doing what he did when he was on earth. While speaking to a ladies group in Southern California this month Cheryl was discussing the topic of Jesus' delay in visiting his sick friend Lazarus when Mary and Martha asked him to come help their brother: John 11:6-8 ESV
6 "So, when he heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer in the place where he was." TWO MORE DAYS!!! Why didn't Jesus listen to his friends and come right away??? Jesus was listening to His Father's voice.
7" Then after this he said to the disciples, "Let us go to Judea again." 8 The disciples said to him, "Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?"
On one hand, Jesus' friends were begging Him to come to them to help them. On the other hand those against Jesus promised to kill him if He returned. Who did Jesus listen to? Neither!!!
Jesus didn't listen to His friends nor those against Him. He wasn't swayed by pleasing people nor was He deterred by the threats of mere men. Jesus was always about His Fathers business.
As followers of Christ may we always seek to be like Jesus, not being persuaded by friends or foes but LET'S BE ABOUT THE FATHER'S BUSINESS.
