Our First Medical Camp Report:
The JFM Mission is "Teaming people and resources to reach
the world with the freeing Power of Jesus Christ" and that is what has happened
once again!

We had over 50 wonderful Kenyan people volunteer to serve
with JFM staff, using the gifts and skills God has given them.

We had
volunteers at the registration desk, queuing the people as they arrived,
helping them get from station to station, and guards and spiritual counselors,
and even hostesses to make sure the needs of the volunteers were met!!
Some volunteers qualified to work on the nursing and
clinical team-physicians, lab techs, and pharmacy personnel. Imagine the beauty
of seeing everyone do such a great job, when they had never even seen such a
ministry as this!
In the four-day medical camp we thoroughly cared for around
800 people! Medical Camp Web Album

In the spiritual counseling area, each person received between 10-15 minutes of one-on-one personal prayer and
counseling!
Approximately 70 people accepted Jesus as Savior at the clinic and another 70 were saved at the tent crusade!
At the HIV counseling area, information was exposed that
will become very important to Kenya. The government-provided counselors thought
that this valley had a low percentage of positive cases, but found, as a result
of this clinic, that it is at a much higher rate. Over all, Kenya has a rate of
about 5%; we found a rate of 14%!
It is felt that our clinic site allowed more
people to come forward and be diagnosed because there was no stigma attached in
coming to our camp. There will be significant follow up in this area.
We screened blood pressures and found about 98 cases of
very high blood pressures. We screened 265 people for high blood sugar and found 28 cases (14%); about 5 cases were very high and were referred to
follow up care immediately.
Over the 4 days we had to turn away 100's of people. Even
the last day, people were begging to be cared for; however, we had no choice
but to close each day! That was hard for everyone!! The need is so great.

We dispensed huge amounts of free medication. It was
tremendous. We just kept going to the pharmacy to replenish our stock.
The city
officials are very, very happy with our work and we are welcome back ANYTIME in
the future!!!

A Calling ...
Article by Pastor Sherry Cox

As you have read this wonderful report, have you considered
today how you can be further involved in ministry???
We recently read an article in a Christian periodical
written by the evangelist T. L. Osborn regarding soul-winning and I want to
share an important truth with you that he stated so well:
"As you discover the joy of soul-winning in your own life...plant
some of the money that God has entrusted you with to sponsor tools for
soul-winners who do cross-cultural evangelism.
That way, you will be involved in evangelism abroad and will share the
reward for every soul won by that witness...It is not enough to just think or
talk or pray about it. Put action to
your convictions. Do something today
while the fire is burning! Stoke it, act
on it, and it will blaze brighter!"
We all must heed the mandate of the Great Commission in the
time we have left to us. A HUGE "Asante, sana (thank you)" to those of you who have
heeded the mandate!!!
In the next four months there are 3 more clinics planned;
your "gifts" would be much appreciated in the near future, to help
with medications and supplies!
