Did You Know?
Electrostatic Painting
is not a type of paint and does not make the paint more durable! Electrostatic painting is a method of spraying that is similar to regular spraying but simply provides a smoother finish. It works by "grounding" the surface you are painting (giving it a negative charge) and then spraying the paint (which picks up a positive charge when going through the machine). As everyone knows, positive and negative attract, so as a result, the paint gets pulled tightly to the surface creating a smooth surface similar to car paint.

Job Of The Month
Emeritus photoEmeritus Logo
Emeritus facilities are clean, well-staffed and managed just the way you would hope. The residents we met were happy and busy, but admittedly, go to bed early, so that's when we came to work. We started our work late and were cleaned up by breakfast. Emeritus of Arlington had us redo all the hallways, lobbies, and common areas and we even added a new service of removing and installing ceiling tiles. Soon, the new carpet and furniture will come in so the residents will have a new home without having to move!

buckets of paint
This month Tech and its staff helped paint two sheds for a local Alexandria family who recently lost their father. Dave Poulin was a local rugby coach and mentor to many so we decided to take on one of the projects he had on his list. With all the teams help we got it all done in one weekend.
Floor Coatings

Lately we have had lots of requests to paint floors. Garage floors, penthouse floors, mechanical room floors, they must all be looking bad at the same time. Is there someone out there walking around with muddy feet?

Floors are one of the hardest surfaces to paint since the coating has to do three things that usually don't go together 1)adhere well 2)breath well and 3) hold up to lots of rough wear.

The other problem with floor painting is that a lot of the old paints that everyone used are now gone because of the new VOC laws. So, what to do?

Well, paint manufacturers have been busy coming up with new types of epoxies which can do the trick. The new paints not only handle the three demands but they also  smell less and dry faster. The bad news for you engineers is that they are not as easy to apply and don't have long shelf lives.

If you have questions feel free to call us and we can send you the list of coatings we recommend, as well as some application tips.

Now is the time to start scheduling that winter work. We offer winter discounts for all work done in December, January, and February!!!

Sincerely,
