Tnemec: "Cement" Spelled Backwards!
In 1921, Albert C. Bean, Sr. made a discovery that marked Tnemec's beginning. He discovered that the alkalinity of cement inhibited rust on reinforcing bars. Through his investigation, he used this information to patent revolutionary coating formulas. Tnemec Series 180/181 coatings are used as self-priming coatings on concrete, brick, stucco, and lightweight block. They are also formulated to resist mildew growth on the paint film. Available in smooth and sand-textured finishes, these coatings protect surfaces against weather, driving rain, industrial fumes, and alternate freezing and thawing.
