Our New On-Site Color Consultant
 This past week, our commercial sales manager, Terri Boyd, became a member
of the IACC-NA (International Association of Color Consultants North America) after completing the first two sessions in a series of seminars on the psychology of color and human response to color. The focus of the training is to determine the best use of color in various environments (offices, schools, hospitals, residences) that protects eyesight and eyestrain (visual ergonomics), thereby creating surroundings that provide a healthy balance of stimulation and monotony. Colors are determined based on the function of the space and its occupants.
The course also included extensive training on proper lighting, which not only has a profound effect on humans, but can and will change your color!

Tech Painting's Company Picnic
 On October 25th we
held our annual picnic for all employees and their families. Face painting and
balloon sculptures were a huge hit with the kids. Everyone enjoyed a burger or
dog from the president's grill. Despite the on-and-off showers, the Residential
and Commercial crews held their annual soccer contest, and this year the
Commercial crew left the field as victors. It was a great time for everyone to
relax and enjoy a fun day at the park, despite the uncooperative weather! |

English Classes Come to Tech Painting
Tech Painting now offers
English classes to all of our Hispanic employees. We recently hired Alejandra
Rimada, a Argentinean-born teacher, from a local elementary school. Alejandra
comes to our office three days a week to teach English as a second language.
The painters are held in rapt attention as she conjugates verbs and oversees
their exams. Each student has their own text book, which allows them to
continue their studies at home.
The classes are divided into two levels. Those with a better command of the
English language come to class once a week. Those who need a bit more
instruction attend twice a week. Enthusiasm for the classes is widespread
within the company. This program benefits both the employees and the company as
a whole. Our painters will be better able to communicate with everyone in their
daily lives, as well as with our customers and their colleagues.
