Our summer season is as busy as ever. Our jobs have ranged from century-old homes in Old Town and Capitol Hill to brand new mega-mansions in Oakton and Great Falls. The home-
owners are still glowing about the transformation of their homes, whether old or new.

A Job of Historic Proportions

We just completed over 7 weeks worth of work on this stately 'grand dame' on Prince Street in Old Town, Alexandria. Tech Painting coordinated the use of scaffolding for access to the front facade, as well as a self-propelled 60' manlift for accessing the tall side of the house. We worked in conjunction with brick masons who carefully re-pointed the sandstone front and replaced some of the disintegrating lintels and sills around the house.

Our crew had its own work cut out for them as they delicately removed over 150 years of paint from the bay windows before painting. Working from both the lift and the scaffolding they were able to pay close attention to all aspects of the prep work and painting. The result of all this hard work is a landmark house transformed. Neighbors from blocks around the house came by to congratulate the crew on a job well done as the work was nearing its end.

...and after!

Seaport Foundation Powerwashing Tech Painting Supports the Alexandria Seaport Foundation
Tech recently donated the labor and materials that were necessary for the washing of the ASF building on the Potomac. The building was cleaned as a first step in the process for getting it re-stained. Other volunteers arrived over the weekend and finished the work by applying stain to all the trim and siding that Tech had washed.

The Seaport Foundation is a non-profit organization. The Foundation runs a boat-building program for individuals, communities, groups, and families. However, their chief mission is running an apprenticeship program for "at-risk" teenagers. The kids learn the value of hard work and the meaning of dependability while at the same time earn a sense of accomplishment with every finished boat. Tech Painting has employed several of the graduates of the program over the years.  Check out their website for more information.
