Samples are first examined optically (PLM & Stereo Microscopes), and then by a state-of-the-art Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM). The sample's quantitative elemental composition is determined by an Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometer (EDX). This microscopy method may also be used to search for lead paint by SEM/EDX and Backscattered Electron (BSE) analysis. |
