Let's get straight to the question everyone is asking - what is happening with the economy? When is this recession going to end?
Well, a top Bank executive said last week that he thinks we are about half way through the worst of the global downturn. I can loosely agree but perhaps more realistically we are just less than halfway.
The downturn slightly precedes 2008 but it only started spreading like a virus in September last year. This was when Saturn entered Virgo. So you may want to know that Saturn, the planet of restriction and hardship, leaves Virgo at the end of October 2009.
That's good news and possibly when the worst of it will be over, however right through until 2010..... From today for a 3 day period the Sun/Earth relationship will cause the Sun to appear to stand still in the sky; Sol= Sun, Sistere = stand still, which is why we call it the Solstice. Then the Sun will appear to move again, which is why we celebrate its apparent 'birth' on Christmas Day.
Of course the Sun isn't really doing anything, it's all a matter of perspective. Remember this in 2009. Much of our physical life is based on illusion and what appears like an ending is always a beginning -and therein lies the hope for the year ahead. Have a great Christmas.
