What is an "UDU"?

A mesmerizing, highly melodic clay pot drum from Nigeria.
Hear & Watch the UDU.

Learn to play the UDU!: Udu Workshop Sat. Oct. 18

Top 5 Reasons to attend UDU workshop:
1)  You can play the UDU late at night and your neighbors and/or loved ones won't complain.
2)  Hand-made UDUs available for use/sale for all who pre-reg.
3)  Udu doubles as beautiful piece of art in your home.
4) Udus are much lighter to carry than djembes or congas.
5)  You will be able to claim, with accuracy, that "You do udu".

ALSO!  Brazilian music lovers:  Learn the beats of Fundo do Quintal, Grupo Revelacao and contemporary Samba-Funk rhythms from Seu Jorge!!!:
Pagode Rhythms for Congas, Rebolo and TanTan!
This one-time workshop will cover the basics and much more: How to play samba pagode ("pah-GO-jee") rhythms on your conga, rebolo and/or tantan, how to gain independence between your right and left hands, and how to improvise off the basic pagode ride.

"If a man is called to be a streetsweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven played music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great streetsweeper who did his job well."
