WATER RELEASE ALERT - POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING
DECEMBER 21, 2010
The Spring Valley Lake Association has been notified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department of the potential for flooding later this afternoon.
Sometime this afternoon, there will be a water release from the Cedar Springs Dam. This release is in preparation of the forecasted measurable rainfall later tonight and tomorrow morning. This water release has the potential to cause flooding in the area of the Mojave River.
If you are displaced from your home and need shelter; and/or shelter for large animals; please respond to the following locations:
- High Desert Chapter of the American Red Cross is preparing to open shelters in this area, however the information is not available at this time. Call the Red Cross at 760-245-6511 for the most up to date shelter information.
- Large animals can be taken to the Horseman's Center, 2430 Hwy. 18, Apple VAlley; 3 miles east of Central Road, Apple Valley, CA 92308.
