Spirit Committee - Why did the Board force the Chairperson of the Spirit Committee Out?

The Board and Manager were taken by complete surprise when Mrs. Berger resigned as Chairperson of the Spirit Committee and by the Committee Members decision to step away from the Spirit Committee. The Board was in shock by the Friday set up issue brought up during the March Board meeting by Mrs. Berger. In fact, during the annual calendar planning meeting held with the Chairpersons of the Spirit and Youth Activities Committees on October 21, 2009, the Friday set up dates were all worked out, and the Association committed to giving the Spirit Committee every possible Friday. There were, however, three Fridays that the Chairpersons agreed to give to the Boy scouts for their events, this included Friday, March 19, 2010. Management offered to provide the Spirit Committee two maintenance employees to handle and assist with the set ups for the Committee Events. The Board and Management is very sorry to see Mrs. Berger and the Spirit Committee resign, and we wish to extend our deepest appreciation and gratefulness to Cheri and her "girls" for all of their hard work and dedication.
