Since our last newsletter in December, our membership has grown nearly 25% to almost 1,000 members due to your great support!
Your participation allowed us to conduct two additional Coalition Leadership Breakfast events and two new Special Operations Research Development and Acquisition Center (SORDAC) Leadership breakfasts. Coalition Leadership Breakfasts

The 25 February and 22 April Coalition Leadership Breakfasts were great successes! We thank our distinguished Coalition Senior National Representative guests of honor:

We were honored to kick off our Special Operations Research, Development, and Acquisition Center (SORDAC) Leadership Breakfast series with Mr. James Geurts, Deputy Director SORDAC, as our guest of honor on 17 March. We were also privileged to have Ms. Kelly Stratton-Feix join us for this initial event.
We continued the series with Colonel James Smith, Program Executive Officer SOF Warrior, as our guest of honor at our 26 May breakfast.
These breakfasts provide USSOCOM leadership an additional means of communicating with industry leadership enhancing the quality and speed of solutions delivered to the warfighter.
We intend to continue this breakfast series with the next SORDAC Leadership Breakfast scheduled for Thursday, 19 August. Put this exclusive opportunity to meet SORDAC leadership and network with your fellow local defense industry leadership on your calendar.

The Director of the CSC Tampa Office, Major General Dave Scott, U.S. Air Force (retired) identified the importance of this breakfast series that allows industry the opportunity to accelerate the force by better understanding SORDAC leadership vision, strategic initiatives, and immediate needs.

Please note, online registration is now closed. Tickets and registration must be paid for at the registration desk. Luncheon tickets will only be on sale at the registration desk on 14 June. Founding Board Member, Frank Wattendbarger, Recognized
| On 25 February, the Tampa Bay Chapter of NDIA recognized Frank Wattenbarger for his contribution to the chapter as a founding board member.
Frank is the Principal of JFW Consulting, LLC, based in Tampa, FL. JFW Consulting provides a broad spectrum of strategic planning and business growth support services to the defense industry.
Prior to forming JFW Consulting, Frank was the Director of the Advanced Technology Directorate, Special Operations Acquisition and Logistics Center, now known as SORDAC.
We thank Frank for his support as a founding member and a leader in our local industry!

Donate Unused Computer Systems

Computer
Mentors Group, Inc. is a non-profit service organization comprised of
computer professionals, and others interested in the future job
opportunities of disadvantaged youths. The organization dedicates their time and talent
to encourage and guide young people toward a career in the computer
industry. Their objective is to provide free, high quality computer literacy training
and technology access to underprivileged families all across America. They are achieving this objective through training, jobs, and computer
ownership for low-income participants. The Tampa Bay Chapter of NDIA helps to support this organization by donating unused computer systems. You can simply bring your equipment to any of our events and we will arrange for delivery to the Computer Mentors Group. Chapter Nominations for Elections in September 2010

We are now seeking nominations for board membership and officer positions. If you are interested in nominating yourself or a colleague you feel is unduly qualified, please reply to this message.
Elections will be conducted via online survey in September. The due date for nominations is August 25th, 2010. All nominees must be current NDIA members in good standing.
This is a great chance to join the leadership team and make a difference in our chapter, the defense industry, and our community!
