Dassault Falcon, Soon to be Flying High at Airport

Reno-Tahoe International Airport is the new home of the West Coast service center for the international aviation manufacturer Dassault Falcon.

The French-owned business jet manufacturer plans to open the 40,000 square foot factory-owned service center, located on South Rock Boulevard, in the first quarter of 2009.

Dassault Press Conference

Krys T. Bart, President/CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, said the new service center will add jobs and raise the international profile of the airport by attracting Dassault Falcon aircraft from Canada, Central America, and as far away as Asia.

Dassault Falcon is responsible for selling and supporting Falcon business jets throughout the world. It is part of Dassault Aviation, a leading aerospace company with a presence in over 70 countries across five continents. Dassault Aviation produces the renowned Mirage and Rafale fighter jets as well as a complete line of Falcon business jets. The company has assembly and production plants in both France and the United States and service facilities on both continents, employing a total workforce of over 12,000.

The Reno service center will eventually be staffed by over 40 highly skilled Dassault Falcon personnel.  The service center will also support a 'Go Team' to provide rapid mobile response directly to an aircraft location anywhere in the United States with the parts and tools necessary to get a Falcon flying with minimal delay.

In these challenging economic times, it is wonderful news for the community that one of the most successful aviation companies in the world will be bringing northern Nevada more employment, economic benefit, and an even higher profile among the international aviation industry.
New Firefighting Facility Recognized

The new Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Facility was recently recognized by the Associated General Contractors. The PENTA Group, who constructed this state of the art facility, just received the Pinnacle Award in the category of "Excellence in Project Management" for projects over $5 million.

Construction of the $10 million ARFF Facility required close coordination with the Airport Authority's Engineering department, the Transportation Security Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the contractor. There were strict requirements regarding debris and dust control, lighting and crane work, and any necessary taxi lane paving.

This project could not have been successful without a strong partnership between all parties, allowing effective communication and efficiency that has now been recognized by the Pinnacle Award.
Airport Welcomes Wolf Pack Den

Firefighting Facility

"N-E-V-A-D-A, Reno-Tahoe International Airport says Nevada!"  This was the cheer that could be heard throughout the airport's lobby, security checkpoints and concourses on Thursday, November 20th as Reno-Tahoe International unveiled a piece of its very own silver and blue - a Wolf Pack Den located on the connector concourse, just prior to the B Concourse security checkpoint.

The Nevada Marching Band, Mascots Alphie and Wolfie, and 40 University of Nevada cheerleaders and dance team members filled the connector concourse to welcome the Wolf Pack Den and show their school spirit.  The pep rally atmosphere was planned just in time to get Wolf Pack fans ready for the big Nevada vs. Boise State game.

The Wolf Pack Den features a smaller version of the Wolf Pack sculpture that appears just outside of Mackay Stadium, photos depicting Wolf Pack athletic and academic opportunities, and a streaming University of Nevada video.  The Wolf Pack Den was graciously sponsored by the Reviglio Family and Western Nevada Supply.
"The best way in and out of the Reno-Tahoe region is getting even better."
